MAMMA's purpose

MAMMA - Mothers Advocating Mother’s Milk Association is a breastfeeding peer support group for Portishead & Pill, Nailsea & Backwell and Long Ashton. The group was established by local mums and community midwives in 2005, and has continued to grow and help local breastfeeding mums ever since.

Mamma is run completely by volunteers. We are supported by our local Children's Centres and work collaboratively with the local  midwives and health visitors.

Our work involves providing support for local breastfeeding mothers. We aim to provide a friendly, accessible resource to help mums reach their breastfeeding goals.

Alongside breastfeeding support, Mamma provides a fantastic opportunity for young families to meet each other and share the exciting (and sometimes daunting!) world of parenthood.
